Aguascalientes Downtown Aguascalientes has a large central plaza in the center of town. Many people gather with their children or their loved ones to sit under the shady trees or to feed the pigeons.

On one corner of the square is Sanborns store and restaurant. Opposite Sanborns in the square is the Holiday Inn Centro. Around the square is a large cathedral, government offices, and many banks. The double-decker tourist bus picks-up and drops-off tourists from the central square.

The central square connects to two-block-long walking market area with shops and restaurants on both sides of the walkway. The walkway begins at the corner of Madero St. and Juárez St. At the end of the walking market is an enclosed mall, called 'El Parián' with local shops and a foodcourt.
